About Sarala

Sarala Development & Microfinance Pvt. Ltd. (SARALA) has been promoted by Sarala Women Welfare Society, a non-for-profit Section 25 Company which was formed in Haora (Howrah), West Bengal in 2006.

Main objective was to serve the poor women who reside in urban and predominantly in the rural areas and are deprived of financial assistance by the normal banking channel by offering them small ticket loans under micro-finance norms and gradually make them self-reliant economically.

  • Successfully implemented online disbursement of MFI loan direct the clients' bank accounts.Plans are afoot to progressively increase the coverage of online disbursement of loan.

  • Successfully completed its 1st year of Business Correspondence model with IDBI Bank

  • MD, Mr. Pranab Rakshit was inducted as a Board member of Sa-dhan and Secretary of AMFI-WB

  • There has been steady growth in the number of borrower clients. Likely to reach a client base of 150,000 by March, 2017.

  • Received new sanctions from Bandhan Bank, Yes Bank, Syndicate Bank and Agri Business Finance Ltd. (a NABARD subsidiary). With these sanctions, the number of lenders has increased from 10 to 13.
