SARALA WELFARE TRUST-CSR WING

Sarala Welfare Trust journey was started in 27th February, 2018 with an aspiration to help under privileged section of the society. Sarala actively contributes to the social and economical development of the communities, built a better and sustainable way of life. It envisions “Healthy environment for better living and generating sustainable livelihood” with the mission to “Provide viable and sustainable resource development opportunities for marginalized section of the society and reduction in poverty level”.

AREAS OF INTERCESSION

  • Plant more trees to become an active participant in ‘Green Initiative’.
  • Neem tree planting and harvesting in farmers land, Panchayets (village level administrative units in India) to make significant economic growth in their life.
  • Economic empowerment of women through livelihood generation (Animal Husbandry, Knitting of Woollen Garments).
  • Skill development and financial literacy for marginalized women.
  • Access to health facilities for weaker section of the society.
  • Create market linkages for beneficiaries.

ACTIVITIES CARRIED OUT UNDER SARALA WELFARE TRUST

  • Sarala Welfare Trust seized green initiative in three blocks (Baduria, Basirhat-1, and Basirhat-2) of North 24 Pargans district, West Bengal.
  • 31,500 Neem saplings and 20,000 Neem seeds planted during the month of July to September, 2019-2020 & 2020-2021, involving local level NGO’s and Panchayet.
  • Four local NGO’s, namely ‘Taragunia Bright Future Welfare Society’, ‘Begumpur Pally Unnyan Kendra’, ‘Pifa Coconut Farmers Welfare Society’ and ‘Panini Lokobhasa Prachar Niketan’ are working as a local level NGO partners in the plantation drive, under the supervision of Sarala Welfare Trust. Local level administrative authority, school students and teachers of surrounding area enthusiastically participated in the green initiative.
  • Sarala Welfare Trust joint hand with a local NGO, named ‘Our Association of Remedy’ for Duck Farming project.
  • Project named Duck Egg Production by Poor Women implemented in two district of West Bengal. This project is to determine if maintaining a home duck flock for egg production, could be financially gainful for poor women. 10 beneficiaries from Lohapole, Joka, Kolkata and 9 beneficiaries from Machhlandpur, District –North 24 Parganas are directly involved in the project. The project initiated with 100 ducklings.
  • The project ‘Empowering Women through Skill Development’ was initiated by Sarala Welfare Trust with an objective to empower women and build skills in knitting of woollen garments. The project is focused to support such women who are willing to improve their family income by undertaking suitable livelihood opportunities. Knitting of woollen Garments project was initiated in Hanskhali, Betna of Nadia district, West Bengal. Respectively a group of 24 and 17 women beneficiaries are trained under this project. Beneficiaries are trained in woollen knitting and a woollen knitting machine is supported by Sarala Welfare Trust to start the venture.
