Dr. Sinha has been associated with Sarala since its early days and joined the Board in 2013. He is a US Resident and retired US Medical College Professor, with a thorough understanding of the development sector, Dr. Sinha has a long experience of managing and executing multiple developmental projects that have a sustainable impact on the target communities. Dr. Sinha have attended the prestigious Microfinance Program at Harvard University. He takes profound interest in converting developmental projects to sustainable models for the benefit of last miles.
Mr. Rakshit serves as the CEO of Sarala Welfare Society and MD of Sarala Development & Microfinance Pvt. Ltd. He has done his Masters in Commerce and associated at different corporates while handling the roles in Finance and Accounts before establishing the institution. With his keen interest and inclination towards the access to finance sector, he promoted Sarala to fulfill his dreams of serving the communities who lack access toformal financial sources. Mr. Rakshit has served at the Board of Sa-Dhan, one of the RBI appointed SROs for the microfinance sector. He is an active contributor in the state Association of Microfinance Institution of West Bengal (AMFI-WB), and holds the position of Vice President at the Association.
Mr. Mohanty, a seasoned banker with close to three decades long illustrious banking career, last served as a Chief General Manager at NABARD. A pioneer in promoting the SHG-Bank Linkage program at the apex Development Finance Institution (DFI), Mr. Mohanty supported many WSHGs to successfully run small businesses at different parts of India. He has travelled to more than 25 countries in connection with various project works, consultancy services and training assignments for developing the financial inclusion models on various parts of the globe. He joined the Board of Sarala as an Independent Director and currently is the Chairman of the Audit Committee. Mr. Mohanty holds a Post Graduate in Political Science.
Mr. Pradip Kumar Saha is the Ex-Chief General Manager, Small Industries Development Bank of India (SIDBI) and a senior development banker with more than 37 years of experience in Development Banking. During his long career in IDBI and SIDBI, he has handled various Departments, some also as Head of Department. In 2013, he retired from SIDBI and at that time he was heading SIDBI Foundation for Micro Credit (SFMC) and Promotion & Development vertical of the Bank. As a Development banker, he was involved in the formulation of various development programmes and policy level interventions initiated by SIDBI. He was a member of various Committees of the Bank at the highest level. He has also attended various national and international programmes / seminars conducted by reputed organisations. He was trained at Harvard Business School (USA), at Asian Institute of Management (Philipines) and at Cranfield School of Management (UK). He also participated in Boulders Microfinance Programme in Italy. He leads a MSME delegation to the World SME Expo at Hongkong. He also visited Small Business Administration (SBA) at Washington to study the Credit Guarantee Scheme run by them and later helped in formulating and implementing a similar scheme for the benefit of MSME in India. In the past, he has served as Director in the Board of Bandhan Bank Ltd., Share Microfin Ltd., Annapurna Microfinance (P) Ltd., RGVN (NE) Microfinance Ltd., Bandhan Financial Services Ltd., Sarala Dev. & Microfinance (P) Ltd., and Fusion Microfinance (P) Ltd. He also served as the Chairman of WEBCON Consulting Organisation.
At present, he is the Chairman of Sonata Finance (P) Ltd. He has joined Sarala from November 30, 2021 as Additional (Independent) Director of the Company.
A Science Graduate and a former Asst. General Manager at State Bank of India, Mr. Mukhopadhyay is a Nominee Director in the Board representing the holding entity – Sarala Women Welfare Society. During his stint at SBI, he had held various key positions and handled important assignments at different departments of the largest Public Sector Bank in India.
Ms. Banerjee have traversed 36 long years in the banking sector and gained variety of learnings and experiences while holding various key positions at UCO Bank, in India and Abroad. She retired as General Manager in charge of Operations and Services Department and Alternative General Manager of Treasury and International Department from UCO Bank. She also worked as Consultant of BCSBI for incognito visit of the branches of various Public Sector Units (PSUs) and Private Banks with respect to Customer Service Compliance of RBI guidelines relating to borrowing, lending, remittance and all other fields of branch operations.
